Ultragenyx provides a comprehensive benefits program to meet the employee’s health care and financial needs. Our goal is to maintain quality health care options for employees and their eligible dependents that are cost effective and market competitive in our industry and with the local markets. All regular full time employees are eligible for coverage starting with the first day of employment.
We have several medical plan options including HMO, PPO and Health Savings Account to choose from that best suits the needs of each employee.
The Delta Dental PPO dental plan is designed to allow participants the choice of receiving dental care from any licensed dentist they choose. Coverage includes an adult and child orthodontia benefit.
We offer a vision service plan (VSP) that includes an annual eye exam and lenses or contacts every twelve months and frames every twenty-four months.
Lincoln Financial Group Life/AD&D
Ultragenyx provides benefit eligible employees with Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to participants.
Lincoln Financial Group Voluntary Life/AD&D
Ultragenyx provides employees with the option to purchase additional life insurance.
Ultragenyx provides short-term and long-term disability insurance at no cost to employees.
Flexible Spending Account
Ultragenyx offers employees an option to set aside a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical and dependent care expenses.
Eligible employees may enroll in the plan at any time. Ultragenyx will match 100% of the first 3% of the employee’s deferral, all of which is immediately vested. The 401(k) plan offers access to several investment options.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program offers confidential counseling for you and your immediate family members 24/7 including up to three face-to-face consultations per year.
Legal Club of America
Legal Club of America is a comprehensive Legal Plan that provides employees with access to both legal and related professionals.
Vacation and Sick Time Benefits
Ultragenyx provides nine nine holidays each year that are designated by the Company. In addition, the company provides two separate paid weeks where Ultragenyx US offices are closed. These weeks are provided in addition to our standard vacation accrual of 3 weeks for the first 4 years of employment and 5 sick days.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
The Company provides employees with the opportunity to participate in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) twice per year. Shares are purchased at a 15% discount.

Paid Employee/Family Care Leave
The Company provides up to 12 weeks of paid leave for an employee’s own illness/injury, the care for a family member with a serious health condition or for baby bonding.
